How it Works:

FlipCard uses a dynamic back plane to the left and right. This plane is created after its respective front plane’s light source is turned off. The plane’s back and front planes are rotating at the same time.
The cards’ planes are created by setting the light source to either the back or the front planes. This is done by creating a new dynamic light source. The light source is created using a new instantiate Light() function. The light source is used to create a dynamic plane with the light property, which in turn is used to light either the front or the back of the card depending on the light source’s position on the card.
The light source is implemented as an enumeration on the dynamicLight property. This makes it possible to specify the position of a light source. It’s possible to use a light source in back, front, left, right, top, or bottom positions, as well as several kinds of lights (directional, spot, point, etc.).
The dynamicLight property holds either the front or the back planes. The position of the planes are controlled by the dynamicLight.light property. The light property accepts an enum on the light() function. The light() function is used to create the planes’ planes and set the properties of the planes.
The front and back plane’s planes and their lights are connected to each other. If a plane’s light source is set to either the front or back planes, the front and back planes automatically rotate. The light’s toFront and toBack properties are used to determine the position of the

The component can be used by creating a simple container with any of its horizontal or vertical resizeable properties, and then adding FlipCard element. The flip card element will appear in the middle of the container, and will move from left to right or from top to bottom. The container will always keep the dimensions of the card, so that it can be used as a true flip card.
The template for the FlipCard component includes a container, the front flip card (including the flip button and animation) and the back flip card (including the flip button and animation).

If you use Flex 3 Application Builder to create your Flex 3 application, the flip card component is placed on the stage automatically, and the properties of the component are available on the application properties dialog.
If you design the application using Adobe Flash Professional, the container created automatically will be included in your project, and the FlipCard component (created automatically) will be placed on the stage.
If you don’t use Application Builder, you can include the FlipCard component as a member of a Layout component, and then create the top-level container manually.
You may also create the container manually by using a content view.

Using the code as explained in this tutorial (on the right side of this description), we can create a card divider component with a reusable flip button, which can be used as a true flip card and can have either flip button.
